According to the same legend, he had asked Lord Hanuman, his ally to bring the largest Shivalingam from the Himalayas for his prayer. While Lord Hanuman was on his way, Lady Sita built a small Shivalingam for prayer. It is this Shivalingam which is ensconced in the mighty temple.
