Pratapgarh Fort
The Pratapgarh Fort was once the pride of the great Maratha Empire. This magnificent fort was constructed in the year 1656. It is famous as the site of the battle between Shivaji and Afzal Khan, two of the finest warriors of that age. Built on top of a hill, the fort is filled with fantastic structures.A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Mahadev is present on the upper side of the fort while another temple for Goddess Bhavani is located on the lower side. The fort welcomes you to traverse its amazing maze of chambers, dark hallways and ponds. The scenic beauty of the surrounding region adds to the charm of the Pratapgarh Fort.
Panchgani
