Mechuka : Breathtaking Beauty

Mechuka may be a small town but is located in a valley whose beauty can take your breath away. It is near to the border where the two countries of India and Tibet meet.

Visit during the winter if you can and you will be rewarded with a sight that can blind you with its splendor. The snow will fall quite gracefully and will carpet the lands in white glow while the mountains in the distance shine bright. The Mechuka Lake is a scene in itself. The placid blue waters of the lake languidly reflect the beauty of the mountains surrounding it. You can visit one of the oldest monasteries of Buddhism in Arunachal Pradesh here. Called the Samten Yongcha, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views here as the monastery is located on top of a hill and overlooks the valley.
