Raja’s Seat

Surrounded by the splendor of nature, the Raja’s seat was once frequented by royalty. Kings and their queens used to visit the place to enjoy the enchanting sight of watching the sun set. As the sun sets, it creates an entrancing sight as the jade forests seemingly catch fire with the golden red rays of the sun. The endless view of the hills and forests is beautiful even at other times.

Omkareshwara Temple

The ancient Omkareshwara Temple was built by Linga Rajendra II in the year 1820. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is a charming sight with its colored facades. Although a Hindu temple, the architecture shows influences of Gothic and Islamic styles. This makes the temple look really amazing. In fact, the temple has a remarkably original look and feel to in the world of Indian architecture.

Madikeri Fort

The Madikeri Fort is notable for the innumerable times that it changed hands. Over the course of its history, the fort has had different owners. Even the great Tipu Sultan was in possession of the fort for a time. The fort is quite ancient but it has been rebuilt over the years. Now, the fort contains a museum displaying a variety of quirky and interesting exhibits. The architecture of the museum is also quite fascinating with its hexagonal shape.

Abbey Falls

Surrounded by a glorious landscape, the Abbey Falls is one of the most enchanting sights in Coorg. The sight of the pristine water ferociously tumbling down can take away your breath. If you visit after the monsoon rains, you will find that the fierce falls have become more savage. Its wild untamed beauty is a picturesque sight indeed. There is a hanging bridge here that crosses the gorge. From this bridge, you can command an even more spectacular view of the fantastic Abbey Falls.
