Behdhaghat- Marble Rocks

Marble walls tower from the banks of the Narmada River in Behdhaghat. They soar on both sides glittering under the sheen of the cool waters of the river. An atmosphere of serenity defines the entire place. As the sunlight playfully alights on the mirror like waters of the river, the entire area bursts into a lovely glimmer as the marble pinnacles try to outdo the river in reflecting the light of the Sun. The incredibly white cliffs marked by veins of black or dark green looks stunning as the light plays on the surfaces.

Duandhar Falls

As the glorious water crashes down to the river below, a fantastic illusion of smoke is created at the base of the cascade. The smoky appearance of the waterfalls creates an aura of mystery and romance. It is also responsible for the name of the falls. You can spend hours trying to comprehend the enigma that the smoky falls have hidden from the world.

Chausat Yogini temple

A long flight of stairs will lead you to the Chausat Yogini Temple that is perched over a hill looking over the area like an eagle. Once you have reached the top, you are going to lose your breath, not from the steps that you have walked, but from the sheer spectacle that unfolds before your eyes. The view of the Narmada River making its way through the broken gorge at Bhedhaghat is unique and spectacular. Built in the 10th century, the temple has a fantastic collection of exquisite sculptures. These beautifully carved figures date back to the Kalchuri period. You can pay homage to Lord Shiva at this temple. According to a legend, the temple is directly connected to the palace of Queen Durgavati via a subterranean passage.

Madan Mahal Fort

Nearly 900 years old, the Madan Mahal Fort still stands with pride. This magnificent structure is difficult to miss as it dominates the horizon. Stand on the fort and you will be amazed at the panoramic view of Jabalpur that you are getting.

Rani Durgavati Memorial

The beautiful Rani Durgavati Memorial now serves as a museum. It houses a rich collection of intriguing relics and artifacts. The rare collection of sculptures that dates back to the 10th century is fascinating. These carvings are a wonderful example of the incredible sills of the artists and sculptors in the past ages.
