As you approach the Barren Island, you are bound to be awed at the magnificence of the only active volcano in India and South East Asia. This immense structure can evoke feelings of wonder and despair in equal measures but is certainly a sight to behold. The volcano is the only major attraction of the Barren Islands and true to its names, no human has settled here. The desolation of the area is, however, undermined by the lush green forests that surround the volcanic peak. The planes that fly around Barren Island will offer the best view of this incredible natural phenomenon. Although an active volcano, the Barren Island erupted last in 2005. Smoke emanates continuously from within the mouth of this fire beast.
