Triveni Ghat

The Triveni Ghat is located on the banks of the holy Ganges River. A holy dip in the river will cleanse the pilgrim of sins and purify the soul. Every evening, a huge Ganga Aarti takes place here. The waters reflect the light of the innumerable burning lamps. It is most certainly a sight to behold.

Laxman Jhula

Imagine a huge hanging bridge over a massive river with mountains stretching across in the distance. Such a sight is offered by the Laxman Jhula. You just need to look at the skyline in Rishikesh to feast your eyes on this magnificent sight. From the bridge itself, you can enjoy some of the most fantastic panoramas in Rishikesh.

Ram Jhula

Eve more magnificent than the Laxman Jhula is the Ram Jhula. The rushing waters of the River Ganga bring with them the cool winds from the Himalayas refreshing and reinvigorating you. This bridge is an irremovable part of the Rishikesh skyline.

Bharat Mandir

The success of Rishikesh as a holy city is largely because of the presence of this ancient temple. The Bharat Temple was built by Adiguru Shankaracharya in the 8th century. Lord Vishnu is worshipped here. The temple is a magnificent sight against the waters of the river Ganga.

Gita Bhavan

The Gita Bhavan is one of the oldest temple complexes in the city. It is also among the most prominent. The complex offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich mythology of the Hindus and the Puranas. The numerous pillars are carved intricately. They depict scenes and passages from the epic poems, The Mahabharata and the Ramayana.

Neelkantha Mahadev Temple

According to the Hindu mythology, the gods and the demons once churned the sea in order to derive elixir. As a byproduct, poison was also produced. In order to protect others from the poison, Lord Shiva drank the poison which turned his neck blue. That is why his is called the Neelkanth. The ancient temple marks the spot where this event occurred.

Shivpuri

The blue waters of a river are stunning when contrasted with green hills. At Shivpuri, you get to see and experience this stunning sight. Shivpuri is also a great place to enjoy white water rafting.
