Patna Sahib : A Memory of Peace

The glorious white spectacle of Patna Sahib is located within the city of Patna in Bihar. It is officially known as the Takht Sri Patna Sahib and an immensely holy place for followers of the Sikh religion.

The structure of the Patna Sahib is a beautiful one with the white facades. The white color helps in imparting a peaceful aura from the place. The amazing gurdwara was constructed in the 18th century by the legendary Maharaja Ranjit Singh who was the first ruler of the Sikh empire. This great man was also responsible for the creation of other gurdwaras across the landscape of India and Pakistan. The tranquil Patna Sahib lies on the soothing banks of the holy River Ganga. It has been constructed to commemorate the birthplace of the tenth holy guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh.

Additionally, you will find within the compound various antiques important to the Sikh religion. They include an ancient copy of the holy book Sri Guru Granth Sahib that bears the signature of Guru Gobind Singh along with various other artifacts belonging to the great man.
